Installing Safe Exam Browser on Windows

  1. Important!: Please uninstall any previous version of Safe Exam Browser prior to installing a new version. See Uninstalling tab below.
  2. Click the Download Safe Exam Browser for Windows Installer link above to download the installer file.
  3. Open the Downloads folder from the Windows Explorer then double-click SafeExamBrowser-Win.exe.
  4. Go through the installation wizard just using the default settings, clicking OK and Next. This installs Safe Exam Browser Windows to your machine.
  5. Click the Download SEB Configuration for Windows link above to download the custom configuration file. You will be using this file to run Safe Exam Browser.
  6. We suggest moving the configuration file to your desktop since you will be using it to run SEB. Drag the SEB ExamStudio Win.seb file from the Downloads folder and drop it to your desktop.

Running Safe Exam Browser on Windows

  1. Double-click the SEB ExamStudio Win.seb file. Safe Exam Browser will open and load the Candidate Login page.
    Enter your organization ID then click [Next].
  2. To exit Safe Exam Browser, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right corner of the screen then click the [Quit] button in the prompt.
    You can click the Exit Button at any time.

Uninstalling Safe Exam Browser on Windows

  1. Go to your machine's System Settings > Apps and Features. Find Safe Exam Browser, click it and then click the Uninstall button that will appear.

Installing Safe Exam Browser on macOS

  1. Click the Download Safe Exam Browser link above to download the installer file.
  2. Open Downloads from the Dock then double-click SafeExamBrowser.dmg.
  3. Drag and drop the Safe Exam Browser icon to the Applications icon. This installs Safe Exam Browser to your machine.
  4. Click the Download SEB Configuration for ExamStudio link above to download the custom configuration file. You will be using this file to run Safe Exam Browser.
  5. Optionally, you can move the configuration file to your desktop. Drag the SEB ExamStudio Mac.seb file from the Downloads folder and drop it to your desktop.

Running Safe Exam Browser on macOS

  1. Double-click the SEB ExamStudio Mac.seb file. Safe Exam Browser will open and load the Candidate Login Page.
  2. Enter your Organization ID in the textbox then click Next.
  3. To exit Safe Exam Browser, click the [Exit] button in the lower-right corner of the screen then click the [Quit] button in the prompt.
    You can click the Exit Button at any time.

Uninstalling Safe Exam Browser on macOS

  1. Go to the Applications folder, find Safe Exam Browser, then drag the app to the bin or right click it then click [Move to Bin].
    Do the same for the .seb file in your desktop.
